Different offices.
Different services.

“DMV” is a common search term, but states divide the work differently. Check the office type as well as the address.

Driver licenses & IDs

Confirm that the location handles your application, renewal or REAL ID visit. Washington’s driver licensing offices, for example, are separate from vehicle licensing offices.

Registration & vehicle titles

A licensing office may not handle vehicle paperwork. In Texas, county tax assessor-collector offices handle vehicle registration; DPS offices handle driver licenses and IDs.

Knowledge & road tests

Check the test type and booking instructions before selecting a location. Rhode Island lists road-test sites separately from its regular branch offices.

Mobile & limited-day offices

Some locations operate only on selected dates. Confirm the next visit day and services offered. Washington’s DOL2Go mobile unit does not offer knowledge or skills tests.

Can you do it online?

Check your state’s official service options before booking. Eligible renewals, address changes and vehicle registration renewals may be available online. Eligibility depends on your state, record and transaction.

Read about our sources

Hours are a starting point.

Open or closed is calculated from the weekly schedule on file. It does not confirm a walk-in place, appointment availability or a same-day closure. Offices with selected visit dates need a separate date check.

Look for the source and check date.

Office listings link to official agencies. Visit guidance cites the sources used, and individual fields may have different check dates. A missing phone number or schedule means we do not have that detail on file.

Help correct a record.

If an address, schedule or service has changed, report the office and the correction. Include an official source when available so the change can be checked.

Common visit questions.

Can I visit without an appointment?

It depends on the state, location and transaction. Posted opening hours alone do not mean walk-ins are accepted. Check the appointment guidance on your office page and confirm with the official agency.

Are the wait times live?

No. Where California listings show wait information, it is a saved agency reading with its recording date, not a live queue or a measured wait from a visitor. Many offices have no wait data. Missing information does not mean there is no wait.

Can I book or renew through this website?

No. This is an independent directory. Use the official agency links on each listing to book an appointment, check requirements or complete a transaction.
