Before your Florida visit

Choose the service first, then confirm the branch can handle it.

Driver license or ID

Use an office marked DL or DL & MV. A motor-vehicle-only agent is not a driver-license office. Branch notes identify road-test restrictions, appointment requirements and resident-only service where the agency publishes them.

Use FLHSMV’s document checklist for your citizenship or immigration category and transaction. Check the office’s appointment link before travelling.

Registration or title

Use an office marked MV or DL & MV. A renewal and a title transfer require different information. Start with the official transaction instructions, then confirm the branch, payment methods and closing cutoff.

County tax collectors and license plate agents can have different fees and appointment arrangements. Read the local office notes before choosing a location.

Check online options

Use MyDMV Portal to check whether your transaction is available online. If an in-person visit is needed, a listed closing time does not guarantee that a test or application can begin at that time.

Regional offices have a different role

Regional motorist-services offices handle specialist matters such as dealer licensing, inspections or compliance. They are not general replacements for a public driver-license or tag counter. Confirm the transaction with the regional office.
